About J. Patryce Design & Company

Interior Designer Long Island, NY
Founded in 2005, this Hoboken based firm embodies the vision of its Principal interior designer, Joan Enger, blending clean lines with classic elements to ensure elegant, inviting environments.

Joan first began cultivating her skills during a successful run in luxury branding for Estee Lauder, Godiva and Ralph Lauren Home. After fifteen years in, she decided to pursue her lifelong passion and head back to interior design school. Upon completing coursework at NYSID, Joan was hired by Claremont to assist high-end design firms with some of the best textiles on the market. Still eager to be on the design side, Joan was fortunate to secure a position with Shostak & Company as a junior designer where she spent almost four years absorbing the ins and outs from an excellent mentor with impeccable standards. Eventually, she used her experience to set off on her own and establish her firm.

Joan’s style could best be described as “classic modern”, blending clean lines with traditional twists. She believes that a well-executed interior includes an interesting mix of materials, finishes and textures. The firm’s direction points anywhere from transitional to modern, but despite the specific style that is requested, each space that they touch feels unique, layered and timeless.

Joan currently lives and works in Hoboken alongside her husband/business partner Kyle, their son Andrew, and their two daughters, Grace and Kate. Having designed and managed the renovation of her family’s four-story townhouse, which includes her design studio/shop on the base level, Joan is especially mindful of composing spaces that balance function with a desire to live in style. In addition to private clients, Joan and her team are responsible for designing and managing large, single and multi unit urban dwellings for her husband’s development firm.

It is evident upon meeting Joan that she has found her calling.

Having a natural knack for space planning and hand sketching from a young age, Amanda had a hunch early on that a design path would eventually find her calling. A graduate from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Interior Design, Amanda joined the JPD team in February of 2016 after working for a NYC interiors firm. Amanda favors the architectural aspect of design and is drawn to Scandinavian design and clean lines. She believes that it is more than just decorating; good design is a fine balance between art and function.

Amanda’s innate sense of style, impeccable drafting skills, and dedicated work ethic prove to be invaluable to the firm. She has a passion for all things design and a special appreciation for glass-blowing. Outside of the office, Amanda enjoys brunching with her husband Chris, her two pet bunnies Mona & Remy, and dreaming of her next trip to Paris.

Having relocating to the United States from Russia, Nika has worked for a variety of NYC firms in the capacity of office manager/bookkeeper. Her lovely sense of style, fastidious knack with numbers and highly organized manner are essential to our team. Besides being a wonderful wife and mother, she is an avid traveler and fashionista!
